Handmade Zydeco Rubboards, Rooted in History

The first frottoir used strictly as a musical instrument was born from a chance encounter between a Creole musician and a Cajun metal craftsman. For more than fifty years, this story remained a closely held source of family pride for the Landry and Chenier families. Tee Don Landry, his mother Ms. Myrtis Landry, and CJ Chenier, son of Clifton Chenier, are the surviving keepers of this history. Tee Don continues the tradition established by his father in 1946. Every Key of Z rubboard is shaped and finished by hand.
